New England Aviators is a comprehensive reference on the history of the Great War. In December 1918, an exhibition of portraits of New England flyers was held in Boston. This exhibition inspired Caroline Ticknor who, desiring to preserve these portraits, decided to compile five hundred and forty-two short biographical entries on the New England pilots who flew with the USAAC, USN, USMC, and British and French air forces during World War One into these two volumes. Away from dry military records, this work offers personal close-ups on the experiences and years of services of these airmen. Item #74
