Sydney: 1930. Bookplate measuring 176 x 114 cm, fine and uncirculated, 1930. Amy Johnson was a pioneer English aviator, revered as the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia in the year 1930. This bookplate depicts her route across the globe and her de Havilland Gypsy Moth, affectionately named Jason by this heroic pilot. The artist who prepared the bookplate was Noel Cook, and the bookplate comes from the collection of Australian Olympic swimmer and gold medallist Fred Lane. Item #5162
