Prolific Australian author and aviation writer Stewart Wilson created his epic series of 13 aircraft books between 1988 and 1994. In this volume, Wilson looks at the formation of the Fleet Air Arm and Australian naval flying as well a careers of the Sea Fury, Firefly and Sea Venom. The Hawker Sea Fury proved its naval capability during the Korean War, operating from HMAS Sydney. It was replaced in 1956 with the de Havilland Sea Venom. The Fairey Firefly was one of the great naval aircraft of the 1940s and 50s. It was developed into fighter, strike, anti-submarine patrol, trainer and other versions.The Sea Venom became Australia's first all-weather jet fighter and built a solid reputation as a reliable workhorse.
