Prolific Australian author and aviation writer Stewart Wilson created his epic series of 13 aircraft books between 1988 and 1994. In this volume, Wilson covers the Boston, Mitchell and Liberator, three strike/bomber aircraft which served the Royal Australian Air Force during World War Two. Although the Douglas Boston was used by only one squadron, it achieved a fame that belies its numbers. Similarly, the North American Mitchell served a single squadron but were highly effective against enemy targets, particularly in the north of Australia. The Consolidated Liberator was used in greater numbers and played a vital role in the RAAF's Borneo campaign. Item #5074
