Octavo, sky-blue cloth, spine printed with gilt lettering, 288 pp., illustrated with 12 double-sided black-and-white plates, three maps and a diagram included, three appendices included. Spine ends, edges and corners of covers a little bumped and rubbed. Spotting on edges of text block, foxing on endpapers and first few leaves, an award plate is pasted on the front free endpaper, front paste-down endpaper has a very small "Hunter Bros. Pty. Ltd." sticker in the lower right-hand corner, dust-jacket a little worn and torn at edges; otherwise a very good copy. First edition.

Writer Ian Cameron was in the Fleet Air Arm during World War Two. In Wings of the Morning, he tells of the many perilous missions and stirring episodes experienced by the Fleet during the war years, including the sinking of the Bismarck, the attacks on the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, the night bombing of Rommel's transport in the desert, the destruction of the Japanese oil refineries at Palmebang and much more.
