Quarto, illustrated printed wrappers, total of 2,339 pp., additional leaves of publisher's advertising at back of the majority of volumes (unpaginated), illustrated throughout with numerous black-and-white photographs and diagrams, colour photographs in all but two volumes, some tables included. The spines of the majority of volumes are slightly faded, some volumes have light foxing on leaf edges, Book 4 has a small line in red marker pen on the top edge of the text block; otherwise a near-fine set. First edition of Wilson's "Australian Air Power" series.
This comprehensive and thoroughly researched body of work, written over a period of six years, is by prolific Australian author and aviation writer Stewart Wilson. Wilson has written 46 aviation titles and is recognised internationally for his work, being honoured in 2014 as Aviation Journalist of The Year. He is also well-known as the founding editor and publisher of AERO Australia, the popular aviation magazine that ran from 2003 to 2020.
This set, covering all aircraft that have seen Australian Service, is illustrated throughout with numerous photographs and detailed diagrams. It consists of the following 12 volumes :
