Milan: Automobilia, 1984-96. Twenty-five volume set. Quarto, charcoal-grey hardcover, spine and cover embossed with red lettering, illustrated endpapers. Volumes range from 120 pp. to 162 pp., total of 3,341 pp. with additional leaves of advertising (unpaginated). The set is illustrated throughout with colour and black-and-white photographs, tables, charts, diagrams, plans and illustrations. All but three volumes have an additional insert of material at the back ranging from engine diagrams to reproductions of Ferrari-related paintings to manuals. Ten volumes have a belly band in addition to a dust-jacket. The greater majority of volumes are near-fine or fine. Some have a little foxing on the top and fore-edge of the text block. The majority of dust-jackets are near-fine with some being very good. The dust-jacket of Volume 19 is faded on the front, but is otherwise very good. Some volumes have small bookshop stickers inside the front cover. Overall, this is a near-fine set with very good dust-jackets. Volumes 2, 3 and 7 are from limited edition reprints of 1000 copies each (unnumbered), all other volumes are numbered first editions from a run of 5000 copies each.
This luxuriously illustrated set of books produced by Ferrari is comprised of 25 volumes released between 1984 and 1996 with two volumes per year for the majority of years. The editors have captured everything any Ferrari owner or fan would want to know about this famous car company and the vehicles they produce. Written in Italian but including English and French translations, each volume features a variety of articles on specific Ferrari models and designers, as well as automobile and Ferrari history. Also included in the majority of volumes are fold-out plans of engines and vehicle models, with additional special material being housed in custom-made pockets at the back of the volumes. These include sets of reproductions of Ferrari-related artworks, plans and manuals.
