Illustrated throughout with numerous black-and-white photographs, drawings, diagrams, tables, graphs and cartoons. Spine ends slightly bumped, light foxing on endpapers, browning on leaves throughout as common to publications of the period, old smell, wear and tear on edges of dust-jacket with some spotting on covers and fading of spine; otherwise a near-fine copy in a very good dust-jacket. 1942 reprint of 1941 first edition.

At the time this volume was written, Assen Jordanoff was considered the foremost expert on aviation due to his association with Curtiss-Wright Corporation and other leading American Aircraft companies, the many articles he wrote on flying and his two previous books Your Wings and Through the Overcast.
