We of the Turning Tide is a story of the World War Two battles at El Alamein, during which the Ninth Australian Division formed the spearhead of the Allies' attack. Goodhart has not only written this evocative account from the perspective of a soldier who experienced the battles, but also as a memento for his colleagues throughout the peacetime years and a literary legacy of the war for the general public.
