"A. R. P." stands for "Air Raid Precautions". J. B. S. Haldane, F.R.S, outlines the precautions that members of the British general public should take in the event the country were to face raids from the air again. Written at a most prescient time, the author seeks to prepare the public for the worst, argues against the government's preparation and emphasises that people should be ready for what may come. This truly fascinating and informative book was published by Victor Golancz and intended for those whose politics leaned towards the left. Item #4787
Inscribed on the first leaf is: "Arthur Butler Regards Fred Hay Dec '38"
