Front cover leaf a little worn at edges and lightly foxed, back cover leaf a little worn at edges, foxing on edges of text block, top right corner of cover leaf has "ECH 1949" written on it in pencil; otherwise a near-fine copy. First edition. This scarce and unusual document is a brochure produced by Airspeed Limited for its all-metal twin-engine airliner, the Ambassador – the "first British aircraft to be designed expressly to satisfy future requirements in the medium-stage category". The brochure covers the Ambassador's design, accommodation capacity, power plants, technical features, maintenance, design data, performance and commercial efficiency. The aircraft was intended for commercial aviation, and was used by British European Airways until 1958. Item #4723
