An account by American pilot Oscar Hoffman Coen, written with Mildred C. Roebeck, of his experiences during World War Two. Coen joined the Royal Air Force in 1940 and soon joined RAF Squadron No. 71., which, due to being made of solely of Americans, became known as the "Eagle Squadron". In late 1941, Oscar's plane was downed by the enemy over German-occupied France. Coen tells of his journey back to England, which was fraught with many life-threatening dangers and challenges.
