A vivid account of the author's experiences during the Second World War. Flight Lieutenant David Whishaw, a pilot who flew Beaufighters in the Royal Australian Air Force's No. 455 Squadron, details his years of training in three countries then goes on to relate his time with the Squadron. Together, they carried out 51 sorties - an achievement that earned Whishaw, then barely out of his teens, a Distinguished Flying Cross. Item #4574
