While the Richmond base, located in the Hawkesbury region of NSW, was founded in 1925, the area's association with aviation began in 1912. Derek Roylance's account commences there and traces the RAAFs activities from the establishment of the base to 1991 (the time of this book's publication). Roylance covers World War Two, the formation of the Women's Auxilliary Australian Air Force (WAAF), the use of the base by the Australian Army's paratroopers and the post-war years. Item #4506
