An account of fifty years of service by No. 21 (City of Melbourne) Squadron. Formed as a citizen squadron prior to World War Two, it was called to active service as a fighter squadron in the defence of Malaya against Japan, then as a dive bomber and heavy bomber squadron operating out of New Guinea and the Northern Territory. Following the war, the No. 21 once again became a reserve squadron. In addition to the history, the author, who became a member in later years, details the wide range of aircraft used by the Squadron, including Demons, Gypsy Moths, Liberators and Vampires. Item #4464
