Light foxing throughout, spotting on top edge of text block, dust-jacket spine faded, dust-jacket is a little worn and has foxing on the inside; overall, a very good copy. Revised second edition. A history of the Royal Australian Air Force's 458 Squadron as seen from the perspective of one of its members. The Squadron operated during Word War II and flew Vickers Wellington bombers, first in Europe and later in the Middle East. Its first operational sortie occurred on the 20th and 21st of October, 1941, and consisted of night attacks made against the ports of Emden, Antwerp and Rotterdam. Later that same year, No. 458 Squadron took part in raise the newly establish No. 460 Squadron RAAF. At the end of January 1942 the squadron was withdrawn from Bomber Command to serve in the Middle East. Item #4453
