The Soviet Manned Space Programme An Illustrated History of the Men, the Missions, and the Spacecraft
London: Salamander Books, 1988. Quarto, black hardcover, gilt embossed lettering on spine, 192 pp., four appendices included, illustrated throughout with colour and black-and-white photographs and diagrams, tables of information included throughout. Slight foxing on inside of covers, foxing on inside of dust jacket, otherwise a very good copy. First edition. This book was inspired by two British Interplanetory Society papers written by the author in 1983 that covered an overview of Soviet spacecraft design and missions. Following the presentations of these papers, the opening up by the Soviet Union regarding details of their space programme allowed the author to expand on his earlier work to include a review of each flight, greater detail of the spacecraft and missions, and show the flights as a part of a continually evolving programme.
