Very slight rubbing at top spine end, light spotting on top of text block, stamped with information on the "13 Squadron Story" Book Fund on inside of front free endpaper, otherwise a very good copy. First edition. Published to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Squadron, this volume draws on the memories of of the Royal Australian Air Force's No. 13 Squadron members who saw active service together in World War Two. The author details the operations carried out, the bombing in February 1942 of the Squadron's hangar (and other buildings on the R.A.A.F. drome in Darwin) and notes that despite the number 13 known to bring bad luck, the number did not deter the Squadron from embracing and celebrating its name. Also included is a brief history of a new iteration of No. 13 Squadron formed in 1989, known as the 'City of Darwin Active Reserve Squadron'. Item #4415
