Bielefeld? publisher unknown, circa 1895. Quarto, original decorated wrappers; [iv], 96 pp., illustrated throughout. Lacks title-page, wrappers worn, prelims foxed, shaken. Internally good, clean and unmarked. Late nineteenth-century catalogue of carriages from a German manufacturer. Unfortunately this catalogue lacks the title page, so we are unable to specify the identity of the manufacturer. Nonetheless, the selection of 213 different designs is comprehensive. The catalogue contains a full range of heavy and light carriages; carts and road carts; phaetons; hearse carriages; sleds for snow and ice; tilburies; buggies; landauer & berliners; and so forth.
Of special interest are modified designs, such as the reklamewagen (advertisement carts) featuring oversized cigars, a fob watch, and a top hat.
In addition to luxury products for the bourgeoise, this catalogue includes some more practical and down-to-earth transport solutions; including mulch and manure carts, and railway carriages. There are six pages (featuring 13 models) of omnibus and tram carriages. Item #4318
