First edition. Ex libris Molly Barrell on back of paste down. The scarce memoir of Captain Laurence Minot, R.F.C., of Squadrons 16 (France) and 57 (Belgium), killed in aerial combat near Meulebeke, Flanders, July 28th, 1917. A compilation of material complied, including a biography, family photographs, squadron photographs, official letters, press notes, missing notices, sympathy letters from friends, epilogue, and twenty-three transcribed letters from Minot to his father, including the letter he wrote the day he died. This is a very personal and moving publication created by Minot's family, rich in primary source material, paying tribute to the life and service of a World War One pilot. Item #3888
