A History of 208 Squadron
[Littlestone on Sea]: R.A.F., 1966. Quarto, blue printed wrappers illustrated with squadron insignia, 116 pp., illustrate with black and white photographs, diagrams and maps, six appendices. Spine discoloured, otherwise a fine copy. The squadron was established as part of the Royal Naval Air Service on 25 October 1916 at Dunkirk as No. 8 (Naval) Squadron. In its early days, the unit flew Nieuport Scouts and Sopwith Pups but later was bestowed Sopwith Camels. The squadron was assigned with artillery spotting. In 1918, the Royal Aif Force was founded and unit was given a new number: No. 208 Squadron RAF. Item #3682
