Journeys into Night

Melbourne: Hudson Publishing, 1991. Octavo, printed wrappers, (xvi), 272 pp., illustrated endpapers, four double-sided illustrated plates. A very good copy. This is the story of twenty young Australians who sailed together to Canada to train as navigators under the Empire Air Training Scheme. After training, their ways parted, but they stayed in touch. Most of them went into Bomber Command, and fifteen of the twenty lost their lives. Don Charlwood has based much of the book on their letters and diaries. Item #3678
