This constitutes a complete history of Glenn Curtiss and of the many companies that bore his name. Before World War One, Glenn Curtiss built the American flying-boat which was sold to the United Kingdom. During World War One, numerous pilots learnt to fly on the Curtiss J N Jenny. During the Second World War, the British, French, the US armies and other services used Curtiss aircraft among which: the P-36, Tomahawk and Kittyhawk, the Seagull, Seamew and Seahawk as well as the C-76 Caravan.
