Previous owner's inscription on title leaf, otherwise a fine copy. An account of the 2/12 Australian Field Regiment and their operations against the Axis forces in the Middle East. In its first desert campaign, the regiment moved into action without guns, transport or adequate fighting equipment. They were recalled to Australia and retrained to become a jungle regiment before sending them to fight against the Japanese forces at Lae, Finschhafen, and along the Huon Peninsula in New Guinea.
