Cache of ephemera relating to the commemorative flight of Qantas Boeing 747-238B from Sydney to Brisbane on 10 June 1978. Celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's 'Southern Cross' flight from California to Queensland.
Sydney: Qantas Airways, 1978. Collection of ephemera comprising four items, described below. Four items from the commemorative flight, comprising:
1) A double-sided poster detailing the First Trans-Pacific flight of 1928, measuring 42 x 59 cm. One face of the poster comprises biographical information on Sir Kingsford-Smith, Charles Ulm, Harry Lyon and James Warner. The other side of the poster is a large cut-away diagram of the 'Southern Cross'.
2) Qantas menu for the flight, being a folding card decorated with an image by Jack Absalom.
3) Metal foil sticker 'Commemorating the 50th Anniversary'
4) Information sheet issued for the benefit of members of the Royal Aeronautical Society Australian Division, welcoming members aboard and detailing the flight and attendant ceremonies held on 10 June 1978. Item #3522
