Sydney: H.E.C. Robinson Ltd, 1934. Large colour map measuring 550 x 760 mm. Slightly split at a few old folds, now expertly repaired and mounted flush and flat. An arresting visual souvenir of the 1934 MacRobertson Air Race, held to commemorate the centenary of the foundation of the city of Melbourne.

Various issues of the map are held in Australian institutional collections. All include the world map and graphs of the competitors, but not all feature the additional advertising content seen in this example (for a Brisbane based tailor). The map is scarce, especially in excellent original condition, as with this colourful example. Item #3382
