An account of the Royal Australian Air Force's requirements and subsequent orders for the Lockheed Hudson aircraft in 1938 as well as the operations led by the RAAF with such aircraft in Malaya, Sumatra, Java, and the Mediterranean. The five appendices at the end of this account provide information on the number of casualties, camouflage and markings as well as the fate of the personnel of Nos. 1 and 8 Squadrons captured by the Japanese.
