A little rubbed at extremities, otherwise a fine copy in a worn dust jacket. In April 1939, John Bagot Glubb was called to assume command of the Arab Legion, the Army of the State of Jordan. Living in the capital, his position enabled him to meet with royalties, Presidents, Cabinet Ministers and Ambassadors, and to consider the policies and actions of other governments as it was Glubb's responsibility to defend Jordan.
