A little spotting of the cloth and some moderate foxing throughout, yet an attractive copy. This scarce book covers the history of the Australian Gas-Light Company from its establishment in 1837 to the date of the diamond jubilee in 1897. It outlines how gas lighting was used prior to the introduction of electricity in Sydney where it was situated in the new precinct known as Barangaroo. Item #325
