This volume is a comprehensive account of the First Australian Regiment in Sought Africa during the war of 1899-1900. Divided in eighty-five chapters which dive into the organisation and embarkation of the regiment to South Africa to the Battle of Magersfontein and its aftermath to the Pink Hill Fight and the retreat from Rensburg as well as an account of the siege of Arundel and the events at Bloemfontein. The six appendices provide information on the first federal regiment, martial law, Australian horses, the army rations, Victorian losses as well as Cape Dutch. Item #3007
