The Manufacturers Aircraft Association was an American association founded in 1917 under the pressure of the U.S. federal government as well as the U.S. military. Indeed, during the Great War, the U.S. military found itself in need of the patent which would enable them to manufacture aircraft for the war. The Wright Company, the Curtiss Aeroplane as well as the Motor Company were asked to provide such patent and create an association. The Manufacturers Aircraft Association lasted for fifty-eight years until it was dissolved in 1975.

In 1921, the association published the following Aircraft Year Book which provided an insight on the notable achievements of the year regarding commercial airplanes, aerial transport, mail aircraft, and aeronautics in national defense. It also discussed aerial photography, air ports, governmental policies after World War One as well as the technical developments in aircraft construction in 1920. Item #2937
