Octavo, frontispiece, 302 pp., 30 integral plates; A very good copy with excellent dust jacket (some rubbing to front edges, mildly chipped at top left), ex libris glued to front endpaper, front endpaper inscribed by author. The author served with Fiorello LaGuardia with the 10th Squadron Caproni, 14th Group, on the Italian front taking part in the famous raid on Pola. One of the few accounts by an American aviator of service with the Italian forces in WWI. The inscription reads "Mary and Nathan Bidwell. Very good friends with best wishes. Willis Fitch".
Nathan Bidwell was a lawyer living at the Adams Street address until the late 1940's. Item #28
