Agricultural Steam Engines and Machines
London: Ruston, Proctor & Co., 1892. Small quarto, original orange illustrated wrappers; sectional pagination totalling 64 pp., engraved illustrations throughout. Wrappers a little chipped, internally well preserved. Generously illustrated catalogue of agricultural engines and grain processing machinery manufactured at the Sheaf Iron Works in Lincoln.
Like many catalogues this is a composite of sections, and this publication comprises a revised price list dated 1892, followed by the 24 page catalogue of portable traction engines dated 1890. This is followed by another section of 32 pages (dated 1892) of thrashing machines, straw elevators and corn mills.
The engines were designed to be coupled with the thrashing machines and other units, forming portable processing works that increased the efficiency of grain and maize production during the last quarter of the nineteenth century. Item #2773
Price (AUD): $350.00
