Octavo, original lettered boards with blue cloth backstrip; xii, 102 pp., with a frontispiece, 24 folding plates, 15 single page plates and 39 integral illustrations and diagrams within the text. Localised wear affecting one corner of the rear board, first folding plate a bit creased and foxed, otherwise an excellent copy. This is the second edition, issued in November 1929, being publication number 1261 of the British Air Ministry.

This manual is remarkable for its wealth of technical detail on the Supermarine Southampton Seaplane. It features a remarkable suite of plates, many of which are large and folding. All details of the hull design, tail and rudder units, aeronautical development, flying controls, engines, service and maintenance are comprehensively illustrated and described. Scarce is any condition, this complete and beautifully preserved example is a significant document in seaplane history. Item #2059
