Garden City, New York: Country Life Press, 1920. Quarto, original brown cloth with insignia stamped on the front board, xii, 172 pp. (last blank), with a frontispiece and nine engraved plates. Front endpapers significantly discoloured and annotated by previous owner, half-title page is loose, joints rubbed and corners bumped. Nonetheless a good solid copy, internally quite fresh. This important United States Air Service scout squadron was established at Kelly Field in Texas in May 1917. Sent to Canada for training by the British, it was administered by British and American officers working together for initial deployment. Item #191
