'Sound Barrier' The Story of High-Speed Flight
London: Cassell, 1954. Small octavo, hardcover, xi, 130 pp., plates. Front and rear boards a little rubbed, dust-jacket slightly creased and rubbed. A very good copy. This revised edition of the book presents a clear exposition of the time's aeronautical development. During the 1950s higher operating speeds, new wing designs, new power units, and new performance levels were reached in the span of a single year from 1953 to 1954 during the book's publication.
