The Air VCs VCs of the First World War
Gloucestershire: Sutton Publishing, 1996. Small quarto, hardcover, xii, 204 pp., illustrated. An excellent copy in a near-fine dust-jacket. Of the 600 Victorian Crosses awarded to British and Empire servicemen during the First World War, nineteen were awarded to airmen of the newly formed Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service. Of these, four were posthumous awards and all but one of the total were to officers. Item #1714
