London: Hamish Hamilton, 1964. Oblong octavo, 64 pp., illustrated. A very good copy with dust-jacket. The Sopwith Camel was the most deadly aeroplane fielded by Britain and her allies in the First World War. 1,294 enemy aircraft were destroyed by Camels from the time of their first delivery in the early summer of 1917 until the Armistice on November 11, 1918. At the cessation of hostilities, there were 2,582 Camels in service, built by a number of contractors. Item #1706
